A 3D CITY VISUALISATION and PLANNING PLATFORM

Description


GeoCity is an app for visualising 3D city models and supporting city planning. A 3D City Model consists of various 3D city layers such as land parcels, buildings, streets, trees, green areas, city furniture, DTM, rivers, bridges, tunnels, underground infrastructures, etc. GeoCity enables visualisation of all these layers using 3D visualisation techniques developed in the Centre of SDIs and Land Administration, the University of Melbourne. GeoCity is customisable and extendable. GeoCity’s features facilitates hybrid (online/offline) visualisation of large volume of 3D city data, searching address and POIs, shadow analysis, visualisation analysis, 3D navigation, etc.

3D visualisation

Visualising 3D city models such as buildings, streets, vegetation, river, city furniture, and terrain model in different level of details (LODs).

Interactive Platform

Interaction with the objects of the 3D city model to identify and display the attribution of those objects.

Hybrid Platform

Visualisation and searching for point of interests (POIs) and addresses in both online and offline modes.

Extendibility

Possibility of extending the functionalities of the system based on the requirements.

Customisation

Possibility of customising and localizing the UI and features of the system based on the requirements.

City Planning

Generating new buildings and adding them into the current 3D city model to study the effect of the buildings on their surrounding areass.

Shadow analysis

Implementing shadow analysis on the 3D city model based on the actual location of the sun on a specific time of the years.

3D Thematic Maps

Visualisation of 3D buildings in different colours based on their attributes.

Indoor Mapping

Visualisation the internal geometries (LOD4) of the buildings .

Line of Sight

Creation of line of sight between two points on the 3D space and displaying the encountered objects.

Cross-platform

Operating on Android, iOS, and web browsers.

3D Navigation

Navigation over the 3D city model or on the streets based on the defined waypoints.
